Nov. 8th(Thurs) : DJ Spooky – Beethoven Remixed @ Greene Space

Ludwig van Beethoven meets the rhythm of the 21st century in this one-of-a-kind event.  Guests include DJ Rekha and DJ Spooky, and Brooklyn Rider.

Beethoven’s music – monumental and personal, intimately familiar yet ever-ripe for discovery – has inspired and intimidated composers through the ages. Join DJ Rekha, who was called the “Ambassador of Bhangra” by the New York Times and headlines Basement Bhangra at SOB’s; DJ Spooky, the resident DJ at the Metropolitan Museum of Art; and Brooklyn Rider, the innovative genre-bending string quartet, as they remix the iconic composer’s string quartets. In addition, Brooklyn Rider will perform Seven Steps, written in response to Beethoven’s String Quartet Op. 131. Beer is on the haus.
